Artist Statement

I paint my experiences with places and people.

I am motivated to understand life on an elemental level. As a result, I go places, look at and into things, experiment, and become emotionally connected. All of these are fundamental to my creative process.

I really enjoy painting because it provides me a way to add an emotional component to my experiences. I strive to create a sense of “being there.”  People say they like my paintings because they are reminded of something similar. I like that.
